The East Orange School District’s Empowered Parents University (EPU) will kick off the new year with a series of January Virtual Workshops designed to support families and strengthen family–school partnerships.
Held on Wednesday evenings and accessible from the comfort of home, the January sessions will provide parents and guardians with practical strategies, meaningful discussions, and resources to support student success both academically and emotionally.
The upcoming workshop series will include:

January 7 - Starting the New Year: Getting Re-Engaged / Family Goal Setting
Families will explore ways to reset, reconnect, and establish clear goals to support their children throughout the school year. -
January 14 - Guardians Matter: Standing in the Gap for Our Children
This session will highlight the critical role parents and guardians play in advocacy, guidance, and creating strong support systems for students. -
January 21 - Stress and Anxiety: Supporting Students at Home
Parents will learn strategies to recognize stress and anxiety in children and how to provide emotional support and stability at home.
Empowered Parents University will continue to provide families with valuable tools, information, and opportunities to engage as active partners in their children’s education. All sessions will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be offered virtually to ensure accessibility for all families.
